Accountant of Ukrzaliznytsia provided Russian special services with data on Ukrainian Army echelons

On January 17, 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine reported the detention of an official of “Ukrzaliznytsia” who, through her husband, who is fighting on the side of the Russian occupiers, was passing information to the Russian FSB regarding the military echelons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A woman who held the position of chief accountant of one of the branches of “Ukrzaliznytsia” in the Poltava region used her access to official documents to collect intelligence information. She transmitted data on the time, routes and specifics of military train cargo, including heavy equipment, artillery and ammunition, which were transported by rail.

The enemy paid particular attention to cargo transporting advanced military equipment and other strategically important resources. To do this, the official actively used her connections among colleagues and documentary sources to which she had access to obtain even more information. At first, she transmitted data through a man who participated in hostilities in eastern Ukraine, and later established direct contact with a curator from the FSB.

The Security Service of Ukraine carried out comprehensive measures to ensure the security of the routes of the train movements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and also documented the criminal actions of the detainee. The woman has already been charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: treason under martial law and justification of Russian aggression.

The detainee is being held without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. In parallel, it is planned to charge her husband in absentia.
