At the end of 2022, Ukraine may require the European Commission to determine the time frame for joining the European Union. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna during the telethon.
"In order to fully implement the Association Agreement, we need to implement 107 EU directives and regulations. Today, 99% of these acts are ready. About 70% are already under consideration by Parliament",– Said Stefanyshina.
According to her, next week the Cabinet of Ministers will begin to adopt all other acts.
"By the end of the year, we plan to complete how much perhaps the implementation of the Association Agreement in terms of compliance with European standards and demand that the European Commission evaluate this progress and determine the time frame and roadmap for starting negotiations on EU membership”, & ndash; The Deputy Prime Minister clarified.
Stefanishina added that progress in previous years and now allows Ukraine to launch a customs visa-free regime from the beginning of September and count on signing an agreement on industrial visa-free travel in 2023.
