After the death of President Ibrahim Raisi, the running of participants continues in Iran for snap elections, writes Al Mayadeen.
During her registration to participate in the upcoming presidential race, Elahyan announced her motto — this is “a healthy government, a healthy economy and a healthy society.”
The head of the country’s Central Bank, Abdul Nasser Hammati, the former head of parliament, Ali Larijani, and the ex-head of the Supreme Council will also be running for the post of future president of Iran. National Security of Iran Said Jalili. The latter, as Al Mayadeen writes, is known for its tough position on negotiations with the USA and other Western countries.
The election campaign of presidential candidates will last 14 days — until 26 June. The voting itself will take place on June 28.
