A woman gave a scammer almost 100 thousand hryvnias, believing in the promise of winnings

A resident of the Sumy region became a victim of scammers, giving her almost 100 thousand hryvnias. The woman said that she received a call from an unknown person who reported an alleged win of 200 thousand dollars.

As reported by the Sumy region police, despite numerous warnings about fraudulent schemes, the woman believed the scammer and sent him money to supposedly “convert” the winnings. Only after several such transfers did she realize that she had become a victim of fraud.

The police opened a criminal case into the fraud.

The police remind you: be careful when communicating with strangers who promise easy money. Remember, scammers often use various tricks to get hold of your funds. Never transfer money to strangers and do not give them confidential information.
