The vulnerability affected 64 processors, including Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which is installed in many flagship Android smartphones. This means that millions of smartphone users could become victims of cyberattacks.
Qualcomm sent patches to fix the vulnerability to its customers back in September, but not all smartphone manufacturers have had time to update users' devices. There is no information yet on actual attacks using CVE-2024-43047, but Amnesty International has launched an investigation.
