Technology developer Charlie Diaz shared his achievement by creating a miniature replica of the iconic TARS robot from the movie Interstellar.
Over two years of work on the project, the developer has perfected the model, making it capable of continuous movement for several hours.
The latest version of the robot is equipped with two robotic arms that allow TARS to interact with its environment. The developer intends to share his designs so that other people can create their own TARS and improve the technology.
The developer also filmed a video in which he taught his robot to laugh.
The project was inspired by the film Interstellar, where TARS became one of the most iconic robots in cinema.
However, the process of recreating it began with difficulties. In the initial stages, the robot was unable to move because the design did not allow for the additional movement needed to allow the legs to rotate freely.
However, after adjustments and improvements, the robot was finally able to take its first steps.
The first version of TARS was built on a Raspberry Pi 3B+, using metal servos to move the legs and lift the body.
Although the first version had problems with its weight and imperfect weight distribution, the developer was able to gain valuable experience for subsequent versions.
Now he intends to share his developments with others and make the model accessible to a wide audience.
