A fresh wave of Russian airstrikes in kyiv left at least three dead and six wounded, city officials said, as power and water outages were reported throughout the capital of Ukraine.

“As a result of the attack, a two-story residential building was damaged. Three people died and six were injured”, the city's military administration said on Telegram.

For its part, the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, confirmed that the water supply was “ suspended” after the new attacks.

“Due to the shelling, the water supply is cut off throughout kyiv. Specialists (…) are working to restore it as soon as possible”, he said on Telegram, asking residents to store water.

Earlier, Klitschko confirmed that several explosions had taken place in different districts of the Ukrainian capital to which emergency teams and doctors have been sent.

“Several more explosions in different districts of the capital. Rescuers and doctors have been sent to the “affected” places, the mayor said on Telegram. “Stay in the shelters. The air alert will continue”, he specified

Several users of social networks assure that the city is suffering power cuts that affect the internet and telephone networks.

“Russia celebrates its recognition as a terrorist state a new (wave de) terror with missiles against the capital of Ukraine and other cities”, said for his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, after learning of the attack.

“It should be clear to those who still had doubts: Russia must be recognized as a terrorist state throughout the world and Ukraine must obtain all systems necessary air defense operations as soon as possible”, he denounced.

Kuleba was referring to the declaration this Wednesday by the European Parliament of Russia as a State promoter of terrorism in view of its “deliberate attacks and atrocities committed against the Ukrainian population”.

The Community legislature also demanded from the European Union a new legal framework to classify these States and restrict the bloc's relations with said countries.

For its part, Andriy Yermak, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky, said he linked the Russian attack on the capital with the European Parliament's statement against Moscow.

“The European Parliament recognized Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism and a state that uses the means of terrorism. The terrorists immediately confirm that they are terrorists: they launch rockets. Naive losers,” Yermak wrote on social media.

According to local media, explosions have also been heard in the last few hours in other parts of the kyiv region and in various cities throughout the country. all of Ukraine, such as Kremenchug, Vinnitsia, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv.

Russia has focused its attacks in recent weeks on hitting Ukrainian infrastructures, with which the country has begun to suffer severe problems in the water, gas and electricity supply networks just at the beginning of winter.
