A resident of the Kharkiv region, who “leaked” information about the Armed Forces to the enemy, received 12 years in prison

A resident of Kharkiv, who “leaked” information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the enemy, received 12 years in prison. Izyum was found guilty of disseminating information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law (Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

She was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Prosecutors proved that from May to July 2023, the convicted person sent text messages to a Russian agent via messenger with data on the movement and location of military equipment and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. This information was then passed on to representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for use during combat operations.

The convict will be held in custody until the verdict comes into legal force.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the SBU with operational support from the SBU counterintelligence.
