A resident of Kyiv region was a Russian agent and spied on the Armed Forces of Ukraine

A resident of the Kyiv region has been reported on suspicion of high treason. According to the investigation, during a conversation in the messenger, the man received an offer to provide information to the enemy about the location of critical infrastructure facilities in the Kirovohrad region for money.

To carry out the tasks, he involved a minor who carried out the assignment without knowing about the illegality of his actions.

In January 2025, the suspect gave the Russian representative photographs and coordinates of important facilities, in particular an electrical substation in Kropyvnytskyi and a special forces regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for carrying out missile strikes. He was detained after the minor installed a GPS tracker on a car accompanying military equipment.

The suspect was given a preventive measure — detention without bail. Pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the SBU.
