A regional emergency has been declared in the Belgorod Region due to attacks by the Ukrainian army. This was announced by the region's governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, Radio Liberty reports.

According to him, the regime is being introduced in order to protect the population and provide additional assistance to victims. Yesterday, Gladkov reported that almost all of the residents of the border Krasnoyarsk District had left it. Children continue to be taken out of the region to health camps – Since the beginning of the year, 33 thousand guys “rested” outside the region, Gladkov said.

Gladkov called the situation in the region “extremely difficult and tense” and added that he would ask to declare a federal emergency in the region.

According to the law, a regional emergency is introduced if no more than 500 people were injured in the region and the damage does not exceed 1.2 billion rubles. If the numbers are higher, a federal emergency is introduced. The regime involves restricting the rights of citizens and expanding the rights of police officers.

A week ago, on August 7, a regional emergency was introduced in the Kursk region due to fighting with the Ukrainian military on its territory. On August 9, a federal emergency was introduced in the region.
