The search resumes Wednesday for a sixth day to find the four-year-old girl missing in the Mistassibi River. This time they are being carried out by a reduced team.

According to the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Hugues Beaulieu, the command post , open since 6 a.m., was moved to the Dolbeau-Mistassini police station.

During the day, a boat will move downstream on the Mistassibi River and two police officers will carry out searches at observation points.

On Tuesday, a portion of ice gave way, which opened a new passage in the river.

We're going to linger in that corner. There are also two police officers at strategic observation points who will be examining the river. The numbers have been reduced slightly, but we continue to be present on site and if we need to bring back the specialized squads, we will do so, indicated Mr. Beaulieu.

Remember that on Friday, emergency services were called to go to the place where the little girl was sliding with her mother, in Dolbeau-Mistassini, when the tragedy occurred around 2:30 p.m. near a hiking trail located near Route 169.

Several citizens showed their support for the little girl's parents in the last days . While some came carrying stuffed animals as a symbol, others offered to lend their dogs to help with the search, in the Facebook groupSpotted: Dolbeau-Mistassini.

A GoFundMe fundraising campaign was also launched by a citizen in order to financially support the parents. As of this writing Wednesday morning, nearly $4,000 had been raised.

In recent days, the Town of Dolbeau-Mistassini has also offered his thoughts to the family.
