Video cameras for traffic violations

In the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was noted that the cameras record speeding and violations of traffic rules and stopping on the lane for public transport. The maximum fine for speeding is UAH 1,700, and for violating traffic rules and stopping in the lane for route vehicles – UAH 680. Accordingly, currently these are the largest amounts for administrative offenses in the field of road safety, recorded automatically. All the communities from which answers were received confirmed the effectiveness of the cameras in their territories, the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.

In addition, the Department of Patrol Police reported that in the period before the launch of the recording system in the places where the cameras were installed, three times more road accidents were registered with dead and/or injured, than in the same period after the launch of control devices, which indicates a decrease in accidents at the installation sites.
