Over the Black Sea a rare US drone conducts reconnaissance

Over the Black Sea the strategic reconnaissance UAV MQ-4C Triton of the US Navy from the Unmanned Patrol Aircraft Squadron VUP-19 with flight number 169659 and call sign BLKCAT6 is conducting reconnaissance Sigonella Air Base in Italy.

This is reported by the Telegram channel “Crimean wind”.

“Today we see it for the first time over the Black Sea. Triton is designed to perform real-time intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions over large oceanic and coastal regions, and to complement the Boeing P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, – the message says.

Triton is created on the basis of elements of the RQ-4 Global Hawk. Changes include strengthening the airframe and wing, anti-icing system and zippers. This allows the aircraft to descend through cloud layers to better view ships and other targets at sea. Sensor sets help to track ships by collecting data on their speed, location and classification.

“After such reconnaissance, we are waiting for the greetings of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation from the Armed Forces”, – adds the author of the Telegram channel.
