A quarter of Ukrainian refugees do not plan to return

Close to 25% of Ukrainian refugees Europe plans for the future &nbsp ;settle beyond the borders of Ukraine.

Such data  published by the Munich Institute for Economic Research ifo on the basis of the conducted research among Ukrainians refugees at the beginning of 2024.

The head of the Migration Tracking Center ifo Pan Putvaara reported that about 35% of Ukrainian refugees want to return to Ukraine safely there again. At the moment, unconcerned with the situation with safety in the near future, only 4% of refugees plan to return to Ukraine.

At the same time, according to the Institute, perhaps 11% of refugees have already returned to Ukraine, who fled as a result of the war, and 25% not appeared just before May.

“Our results show that while many Ukrainian refugees still want to return to their homeland, avoiding the war is a major factor. The more concerned the conflict is, the more people talk about the future beyond the borders of Ukraine,” – assigned to her daughter  preslednitsa migration ifo Ivon Gising.
