Emily Damari's relatives confirmed that she lost two fingers on October 7, 2023 during a kidnapping by Hamas militants.
Emily Teila Damari from Kibbutz Kfar Aza. Emily was 28 years old at the time of the kidnapping, she lived in the youth section of the kibbutz. When terrorists invaded the kibbutz from Gaza, Emily Teila Damari was home alone, she was mortally scared, and then her friend, 26-year-old Gali Berman, came to stay with her. They were kidnapped together. Gali Berman remains in the terrorists' captivity, his fate is unknown. His name is not on the list of hostages to be released in the first phase of the operation against Hamas. Emily holds British citizenship in addition to her Israeli citizenship.
