Bloomberg Mark Gurman suggested that the most affordable model iPad from Apple will receive an update with Apple Intelligence capabilities in late 2025. In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman said the iPhone SE is expected to get Apple Intelligence features in March 2025, and the entry-level iPad — "later this year". Gurman went on to suggest that by 2026, nearly every Apple device with a screen will support Apple Intelligence.
The timeline indicates a significant gap since the last update to theiPad of the initial level, which took place in October 2022. The delayed update can be explained by the technical requirements of implementing AI capabilities in a budget device costing $349.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000The current iPad 10th generation has the A14 chip, which was first used in iPhone 12 line, and it is outdated. The logical choice for the next iPad is the A16, which was used in the iPhone 15 models, but if Apple wants to make Apple Intelligence as accessible as possible, the A17 Pro chip or the A18 chip will probably be needed.
In particular, last week Apple announced the latest iPad mini with support for Apple Intelligence through a separate press release. The company also reduced the price of the existing iPad 10 and stopped including the charger in the device's delivery package in Europe. It's highly unlikely that Apple would change the iPad lineup in this way if the iPad 11 was imminent.
It's unclear if Apple still plans to hold a Mac-focused event in October, but it appears that the iPad 11 is not will be announced this month.
