In Ukraine, a new American self-propelled gun

Ukrainian tests of the American 2-CT Hawkeye self-propelled gun of 105 mm caliber were successful. This light self-propelled artillery installation was delivered to Ukraine back in April. Defense Blog informs about this with reference to the director of the AM General program, Mike Evans.

The self-propelled guns were first used on the battlefield in the early days of May. The crew trained for two weeks, and then for another week the installation worked on the battlefield in real conditions and against real targets.

The 2-CT Hawkeye Mobile Howitzer System was developed in 2019 by AM General and Mandus Group. However, the first contract for their supply was received only in 2021 – the Pentagon wanted to receive two self-propelled guns for testing.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine was developing drones with artificial intelligence. The Ukrainian drone will be similar to the Russian Lancet. Many companies have been working on creating such an analogue for the past six months.
