A monument to Dmitry “Da Vinci” Kotsiubayl was erected at Askold's grave

In Kyiv, on Thursday, November 21, a monument to the Hero of Ukraine – military Dmitry “Da Vinci” Kotsiubaylo was unveiled at Askold's Grave.

This was reported by the Separate Battalion “Da Vinci Wolves” on Facebook.

The fighter was depicted with a weapon in his hands and three wolves behind him – in honor of the battalion “Da Vinci Wolves”, which he commanded.

His feat inspires and reminds us of what the heroes of Ukraine fought and continue to fight for, the message says.

The monumental sculpture was unveiled on the Day of Dignity and Freedom, since Dmitry was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity and fought since 2014.

Dmytro Kotsiubaylo participated in the Russian-Ukrainian war since 2014, was the commander of a volunteer platoon, and then a company commander. He was seriously wounded in Pisky, Donetsk region, but after recovery he returned to the front.

In March 2016, he was appointed commander of the first separate assault company “Da Vinci Wolves”, which was later reformatted into a battalion. In 2021, Dmytro Kotsiubaylo received the title of Hero of Ukraine. He became the first volunteer to be awarded this title during his lifetime. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, “Da Vinci” was in the hottest spots together with the “wolves”.
