A monk from Lviv won the championship of Ukraine in powerlifting, setting the eighth record

Hieromonk of the Holy Dormition University Lavra Makariy Dutka set his eighth Ukrainian record. In particular, he lifted a bar weighing 193 kilograms in the bench press.

Also, the monk opened a collection of 500,000 hryvnias, he joined the “Birds of Victory” initiative, within which more than 6,000 drones were delivered to the front. Makariy Dutka announced this on his social networks.

Dear brothers and sisters, they just won the Ukrainian Powerlifting Championship with their personal trainer Pavel Zink in Kyiv. Made the eighth Ukrainian record with a result of 193 kg in the bench press. “Instead of congratulations, I ask you to donate 33 drones for our fighters of the 24th OMBr named after King Danylo,” he said. He trains in the gym, which was set up on the territory of the monastery, and has been working out for at least an hour every day since 2012:

My brothers installed a horizontal bar for me, which is here in the hall, bars, and so slowly began to bring exercise machines, then brothers, then people. All that is here in the gym are the acts of goodwill of the people who supported me in sports, the monk noted.
