A mini-sculpture “Returning Home” was installed at the Central Railway Station in Kyiv. This is another sculpture within Yulia Bevzenko's project “Search!”, which tells the story of Kyiv.

The mini-sculpture shows two trains arriving at the first platform of the “iron gates” of Kyiv. One of the trains is carrying military personnel from Kramatorsk, and the other is coming from abroad. Thus, the station becomes a kind of symbol of Ukrainians heading home or returning from the theater of hostilities.

Once upon a time, the main ceremonial entrance to the city was the Golden Gate. . Now this role has been taken over by the “Iron Gate” of the railway station, says the author of the “Search!” project. Yulia Bevzenko.

The characters depicted on the sculpture have prototypes: a soldier with his wife who came to Kramatorsk to find out with her husband the gender of their future child, and as well as a family from Mariupol and others.

The railway station becomes a symbolic location for Ukrainians heading home or returning from front, – say the authors of the project.

Visa and Ukrzaliznytsia became project partners. According to the idea, the mini-sculpture should serve as a reminder of the importance of returning Ukrainian citizens home.
