A man was tried in Lviv for taking revenge on a girl with a spicy video

After the woman ended the relationship due to quarrels and suspicions of infidelity, the man decided to take revenge. He created chats on the Viber and Instagram messengers, where he sent messages to mutual acquaintances and her father

The Frankivsk District Court of Lviv sentenced a man from Sumy Oblast who secretly filmed intimate moments with his girlfriend. He decided to distribute these recordings among his friends and relatives after the relationship ended.

This is stated in the verdict of the Frankivskyi District Court of Lviv from the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

The man decided to punish the girl for “unsatisfactory” behavior

In 2023, a man who at that time lived with his girlfriend in Lviv and had a child with her, decided to secretly film their sexual act. He stated in court that he did this because of the unsatisfactory behavior of his beloved. He said that she was allegedly walking with another man. In revenge, he installed a camera in the apartment without his partner's knowledge, and also took intimate videos and photos during their trip to Egypt together.

After the woman ended the relationship due to quarrels and suspicions of infidelity, the man decided to take revenge. He created chats on the Viber and Instagram messengers, where he sent recordings to mutual acquaintances and her father. One of the recipients was the victim's friend, who immediately informed the woman about the video. The victim immediately contacted the police.

In court, the man stated that at the time of the crime he “did not think about the consequences” of his actions and now regrets what he did. He apologized to the victim and noted that his actions were caused by emotions due to suspicions of infidelity. The accused also asked the court to take into account that he was working on developing products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and called for a milder sentence.

The court sentenced the accused to 2 years of restricted liberty, which was replaced by a probationary period of 1 year. In addition, the man was ordered to pay the victim 100 thousand hryvnias in moral compensation, 6.9 thousand hryvnias for material damage, 30 thousand hryvnias for lawyer services, 2.6 thousand hryvnias for forensic examination (in favor of the state).

The victim demanded 500 thousand hryvnias in moral compensation, but the court significantly reduced this amount.

The court verdict will enter into force on January 14, 2025, and it can still be appealed. The victim admitted that the distribution of the video caused her serious moral suffering, since she did not consent to the filming or distribution of the materials.
