A resident of Sumy became a victim of Internet scammers, losing more than 100 thousand hryvnias. The man contacted the police with a report that he had come across an ad for easy earnings in one of the Telegram channels.
According to the Sumy regional police, the attackers offered the victim to earn money by watching and liking commercials, promising 30 hryvnias for each view. At first, the scheme worked, and the man received the promised funds.
Then the scammers offered a more profitable scheme – earnings on the purchase of movies. For each purchased movie, they promised to return the money with a small surcharge. To do this, the victim needed to open a special account using the link provided by the scammers.
The man believed the scammers and invested more than 100 thousand hryvnias in this scheme. However, instead of the promised earnings, he was left with nothing.
The police opened a criminal case into the fraud.
