Law enforcement agencies of St. Petersburg detained a man without a fixed place of residence, suspected of robbery and rape. According to investigators, a local resident attacked a woman of retirement age.
According to information from the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Leningrad Region, the incident happened on September 15. A 79-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital. On her body, doctors revealed a large number of abrasions and fractures. Later, the pensioner told law enforcement agencies that she was the victim of an attack by an unknown man. A homeless man took 15 rubles from her and sexually abused the woman. Some time after the incident, the suspect was arrested.
According to the investigation, the woman was attacked by a 48-year-old man. At the moment he is in the isolation ward. Law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case under Article 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. If a man is proven guilty in court, he faces up to 10 years in prison. The robbery accompanying the rape will also be considered.
