Six people were injured, including one seriously, during a violent head-on collision which occurred late Saturday evening in the Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier sector in Quebec. Authorities suspect the driver of one of the two vehicles involved was driving while impaired by alcohol.

The accident occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Route de la Bravoure, not far from the Valcartier military base.

The SUV was driven by a motorist would have deviated from his trajectory to collide head-on with a sedan carrying five passengers in the opposite direction.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged by impact.

The six passengers were transported by ambulance to treatment centers. However, we would not fear for their lives, according to Sergeant Audrey-Anne Bilodeau of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
