(Toronto) Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield’s next adventure will be set in fiction – a space thriller.
Publisher Random House Canada announced on Tuesday that Mr. Hadfield’s debut novel, The Apollo Murders, should be released in bookstores on October 12.
In a statement, the former astronaut explains that the suspense will take place in the little-known world of space travel during the Cold War era and will mix both historical and fictional characters.
Random House Canada reveals that the story centers on a NASA crew trying to overtake Soviet rivals to reach the far side of the moon, but someone on board the module Apollo entertains “murderous thoughts”.
The former commander of the International Space Station has already proven himself as a bestselling author, with titles like An astronaut’s guide to life on Earth, You are here and the children’s book Darker than the night. This time it will be his first novel.
