About a week ago, astronomers discovered an asteroid approaching Earth. The dump-truck-sized celestial body, designated 2020 SW, will rush close to the Blue Planet.

According to experts, the asteroid will pass 22,000 km from Earth. Scientists, despite the small space distance, are confident that the 2020 SW object does not pose a threat to the planet. If it enters the atmosphere, the celestial body will burn.
Asteroid 2020 SW is about 5-10 m in diameter. This size is comparable to the parameters of the largest dump truck. The next time the object will fly close to the Earth in 21 years, but the distance at the maximum point of approach will be 3.7 million km.
