The Chinese lunar probe "Chang'e-6" took off from the far side of the Moon, capturing soil samples. Engineers from Earth watched the drilling process.
According to the Chinese space agency CNSA, the probe took off on the morning of June 4, and about 6 minutes later it entered the planned lunar orbit. The probe consists of a descending orbiter, lifting and returning modules. The last two modules touched down in a given area in the South Pole depression – Aitken – June 2.
During two days "Chanier-6" collected soil samples. In the process, Earth researchers analyzed data from the detector on the device and modeled the sampling area. Using two drilling methods and a robotic measuring arm, the probe was able to collect the best soil samples.
