A brawl at the Smolensk monthly commemoration. Jarosław Kaczyński's speech was shouted down

A brawl at the Smolensk monthly commemoration.

As the “Goniec” portal recalls, another Smolensk monthly commemoration took place on January 10. Laying wreaths at the monument in pl. Piłsudski ended in a huge brawl and police intervention.

Brawl at the Smolensk monthly

On Friday, January 10, another Smolensk monthly commemoration took place. As calculated by the “Goniec” portal, it took place for the 176th time. The celebrations were initiated, as always, by a mass. After the service, Jarosław Kaczyński and his companions walked to the monument to the Victims of the Smolensk Tragedy in Warsaw's Piłsudski Square.

The President of Law and Justice laid a wreath at the monument, which was accompanied by loud shouts from the protesters. They drowned out the speech of Jarosław Kaczyński, who pointed out that the police should not allow a situation in which demonstrations are drowned out by other demonstrators.

Kaczyński emphasized “that the time will come when the law will be respected, when we will be able to conduct these celebrations here.” At the same time, counter-protesters shouted slogans such as “liar” and “you'll be in prison”.

Komosa did not file wreath

According to information provided by the “Goniec” portal, although Zbigniew Komosa appeared on the scene with a wreath blaming Lech Kaczyński for the catastrophe, he was not let in by the security services.

According to “Goniec”, at one point there was a scuffle between the police and the protesters against the Smolensk monthly commemorations. Jarosław Kaczyński reached his car surrounded by security. The crowd shouted at him the whole time.
