A bank employee in the Kharkiv region leaked data about clients from the occupied territories

A bank employee passed confidential information about the bank's clients to an acquaintance. 

A 58-year-old resident of the Kharkiv region held the position of leading economist at the bank and had access to information that constitutes banking and commercial secrets, is of an official or confidential nature in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine.

“It was established that the defendant agreed to the offer of a man she barely knew to provide him with confidential information about the bank's clients for a reward. Thus, the latter violated the obligation not to disclose information obtained in the course of work, and carried out unauthorized sale of information with limited access,” – the National Police of Kharkiv Region said.

The customer, who is located in Russia, was interested in the data of clients located in temporarily occupied territories. Using messengers, the woman transferred confidential information and received a reward to her bank account. The perpetrator was notified of suspicion, she is under house arrest. The charges were sent to court. The defendant faces up to 5 years in prison.
