Although the funeral was held in the United States, where the star lived with her beloved husband, mourners also gathered in one of Warsaw's churches to honor the memory of the deceased star of “Nights and Days”. Jadwiga Barańska died on the night of October 24-25 of this year. The actress passed away just a few days after her 89th birthday. This sad news moved representatives of Polish cinema and fans of the actress's talent, of whom there is no shortage on the Vistula.

Barańska had not appeared in public for a long time, and recently she had been struggling with serious health problems. Her husband Jerzy Antczak regularly informed fans about the artist's condition.

The funeral of Jadwiga Barańska was planned for November 20 in Los Angeles, where the artist had lived with her husband in recent years. The actress's relatives indicated that they would like the actress to be finally laid to rest in Poland, although this is not scheduled for October 21, 2025. It will be the 90th anniversary of the artist's birth then.

Funeral ceremonies also in Warsaw

A mass for the soul of Jadwiga Barańska was also held at the Creative Communities Church at Teatralny Square in Warsaw. The service took place on Wednesday, November 20 at 1:00 p.m. During the ceremony, mourners gathered in the Warsaw church had the opportunity to hear Jerzy Antczak.

Among the mourners was Magdalena Zawadzka, who was friends with the deceased Jadwiga Barańska. Both actresses starred in the film adaptation of Maria Dąbrowska's novel “Nights and Days”.
