A young fraudster is suspected in Vinnytsia region for "removing damage" for almost half a million hryvnias

The procedural leadership of the Vinnytsia District Prosecutor's Office reported a suspicion of a 22-year-old woman from Luhansk in taking possession of someone else's property or acquiring the right to property by deception or abuse of trust (fraud), committed on a large scale.

It is suspected that on October 29, 2024, a resident of Volyn region, through the social network «INSTAGRAM», intimidating a Vinnytsia woman with an alleged damage, which would result in negative consequences, deceived the woman and promised to «remove the damage» in a way she invented and improve family relations by fortune telling and performing certain rituals.

Having thus driven the woman to despair, the figurehead fraudulently extorted more than 450 thousand UAH from the victim to perform the ritual. She disposed of the money at her own discretion.

Currently, a petition has been filed with the court to impose a preventive measure on the suspect.

Investigative actions are ongoing.

The punishment for committing the incriminated crime is three to eight years of imprisonment.
