A small earthquake was recently recorded in the Nevada desert, but its epicenter attracted attention.
A few days ago, a 2.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Las Vegas, the epicenter of which was just a few kilometers from the secret US Air Force base Area 51, writes DailyMail.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake was recorded 51 kilometers southeast of Beatty, which is a neighbor of a secret military facility. Over the years of conspiracy theories, Area 51 has become a cultural phenomenon associated with UFOs, aliens, and experimental aircraft testing.
Recent tremors right on the doorstep of the base will probably only strengthen theories that secret tests are being conducted beneath the surface of the base.
It is noted that a small earthquake was recorded on Monday, at 02:11 Pacific time.
Earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 are quite noticeable and can even cause minor damage, but this time there were no reports of casualties. According to the National Park Service, Nevada is one of the most seismically active states in the country.
Nevada ranks third in seismic activity after California and Alaska. The fault lies in the numerous faults that run along the base of almost every mountain range. Thousands of microearthquakes occur in Nevada every year.
“The earthquakes in Western Nevada are caused by extensional faulting that tears apart Nevada. The ruptures occur when the Sierra Nevada stretches north as it is caught in the motion of the Pacific and North American plates,” scientists say.
Area 51 itself is closed to the public, as well as to air traffic. Google Maps shows no mention of the presence of a secret Air Force base in the Nevada desert.
But that doesn't stop conspiracy theorists from coming up with more and more “details” about a secret base in the desert. For example, aviation journalist Jim Goodall, citing his sources at the secret base, claimed that the base houses top-secret technology that would “envy George Lucas”.
Recently, secret military testing has become a hot topic across the United States, as countless people have spotted mysterious swarms of drones over their neighborhoods.
Also in November, dozens of witnesses saw UFO “drones” buzzing over key U.S. military installations, including a “large fiery” object over Area 51.
The Las Vegas eyewitness who reported the strange cubic object claims to have observed similar strange aerial lights in the area “more than 100 times” since June 2020. He added that these aircraft always appear to be heading towards a top-secret base.
