He changed the contents of the package: police caught a man in fraud

A representative of the postal company from one of the branches in the district center contacted the police. He reported that at the end of September the recipient of the parcel probably replaced its contents, misappropriating a valuable mobile phone.

Law enforcement officers established that the buyer, after inspecting the goods, refused the order and returned the parcel. However, the seller later discovered that the returned gadget in the shipment had been substituted. The damage is about 50 thousand hryvnias.

Operators of the criminal police of the Berdychiv district department interviewed possible eyewitnesses to the incident and reviewed the recordings from video surveillance cameras. As a result, they established that a 32-year-old resident of the Zhytomyr district may be involved in the offense. The man was found, he pleaded guilty. The mobile phone that he appropriated was seized.

On November 27, police investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Berdychiv district prosecutor's office, announced to the man suspicion under Part 2 of Article 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The suspect faces punishment ranging from a fine to imprisonment.
