“Diya” may have an assistant based on artificial intelligence. It is planned that it will allow Ukrainians to solve certain issues faster and easier.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a post by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on Facebook.
What may change in “Diya” for users
Fedorov reported on the possible launch of an assistant based on artificial intelligence (AI or in English – AI) in “Diya” at the end of February 2024.
“One of the ideas we are working on is an assistant based on artificial intelligence, which will help the contact center respond to requests. The assistant will be called Nadiya,” he said at the time government official.
It was planned that they would use a “technological solution from one of the top international companies” for this.
“This will be a new generation chatbot that will communicate in human language in the chat and help solve a simple problem. Its main advantages will be the speed of response and saving time and resources of the “Diya” support team,” the Minister of Digital Transformation shared.
According to him, this will be “a revolutionary technology not only for Ukraine, but also for governments around the world.”
In June 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine by Resolution No. 693 made a number of changes to the Regulation on the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services.
The document refers, in particular, to the possibility of the “Diya” portal using artificial intelligence technologies (within the framework of providing information support to users).
In January of this year, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced ambitious plans for 2025 regarding “Action.Education”:
- implement artificial intelligence on the platform together with Google;
- create even more educational products for the development of Ukrainians.
And recently – on February 4 – Fedorov announced the launch of the WINWIN AI Center of Excellence.
According to the official, at the center, specialists will:
- develop AI solutions;
- integrate them into the public sector, defense, medicine, education, and business.
“Artificial intelligence is already changing our reality. Every day we hear about the launch of new AI applications and services… AI is penetrating literally all areas, and Ukraine has a chance to become a leader in the implementation of AI,” the minister believes.
Among the key tasks of the WINWIN AI Center of Excellence for the year, he mentioned such as:
- create a mechanism for developing pilot AI solutions;
- launch at least three AI products;
- develop a national language model for government services;
- integrate AI into “Diya”, “Mriya”, AI Legal.
“Our goal is to enter the top 3 world leaders in terms of AI implementation by 2030. Ukraine should not catch up with global trends, but create them,” Fedorov emphasized.
Some time later, the Minister of Digital Transformation reposted a publication by one of the Ukrainian media outlets on his Telegram, which discussed Diya's plans for the future.
Among them, in particular, was the integration of artificial intelligence.
“Diya will have an AI assistant, whom Ukrainians will contact if they encounter problems while interacting with the state. The AI chatbot “Natalka” is already working for partners who want to integrate Diya's services,” the publication said in a statement. “Babel”.
Among other innovations in “Diya”:
- services for drivers (expanding opportunities for re-registration of cars, changing technical passports, registering cars after customs clearance, etc.);
- “eConsul” (which will allow Ukrainians abroad to order a foreign passport or ID card, driver's license, taxpayer card, as well as pick up documents at their place of residence);
- “eNotariat” (an electronic system that will integrate all notarial processes);
- change of surname (introduction of a comprehensive document re-registration service when changing the surname);
- digitalization of services related to death (at the first stage – obtaining a death certificate, state registration of death, transfer of data to registers and registration of burial assistance).
