A minor was preparing a sabotage on the railway in Voznesensk. The court sentenced him to a suspended sentence.
This is stated in the text of the resolution of the Voznesensk City District Court dated November 20.
The investigation established that in May 2024, the teenager began corresponding with a Russian representative via Telegram. The latter, in particular, offered to perform tasks for which he would be paid. Graffiti on buildings and objects of state importance cost $200 and $600, respectively, $500 was offered for setting fire to a forest, and $100 was offered for setting fire to a railway relay cabinet. $1,000.
The arson of relay cabinets, signaling installations, and other means of controlling rolling stock on a railway that is of important national economic and defense importance is a weakening of the state, that is, sabotage, the court indicates.
The teenager agreed to cooperate and sent his card details to «Sberbank». As evidence of the work performed, he was to send the customer video recordings.
The accused involved two more teenagers in the arson (one of them, the court notes, had not reached the age of criminal responsibility, — note). On May 17, they arrived at the location of the relay cabinet within Voznesensk, doused it with water and set it on fire. The teenager filmed it on his phone and sent it to the customer. On May 18, $1,000 was sent to his card for the work done, of which the organizer transferred 18,000 hryvnias to his accomplice.
The guy pleaded guilty in court. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison, but on the basis of Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he was released from serving the actual sentence with a probationary period of 2 years.
