Elon Musk spent a staggering amount on Trump's election campaign

American billionaire Elon Musk during the election campaign Donald Trump spent $288 million.

In fact, he became the largest donor in the election. This is reported by The Washington Post, citing an analysis of Federal Election Commission documents.

The journalists add that Musk played an important role in the creation of America PAC, an organization that worked in support of Trump. America PAC has raised $263 million to support Republicans.

The publication found that the fund received donations not only from Musk, but also from his close allies, including Tesla board member Antonio Grazias, Palantir co-founder and Austin tech investor Joe Lonsdale, and Sequoia Capital investor Sean Maguire.

In its annual report, covering the period from November 26 to the end of December 2024, Musk declared a contribution of $11.2 million made on December 31 to America PAC in the form of an incentive to sign petitions.

At the end of October, Musk distributed $1 million to registered voters who signed a special petition, spending $52 million on this.

In addition, Musk said that America PAC plans to significantly influence the midterm elections to Congress in 2026. WP writes that the billionaire's investments in the 2024 elections have already brought him huge dividends: his fortune has grown significantly after Trump's victory in November.
