Multiple WhatsApp accounts can be used on one smartphone

WhatsApp developers are working on a new feature that will allow iPhone owners to log into multiple accounts from one device at once.

According to the WABetaInfo portal, previously the ability to use multiple accounts was only available to beta testers on Android, but now this feature has also appeared in the new build for iOS in TestFlight. In particular, this feature will eliminate the need to use the WhatsApp Business app to access a separate account.

Judging by WhatsApp beta version 25.2.10.70, users will be able to either set up the device as the primary account or, by scanning a QR code, link a new account to an existing one as a «companion». It is reported that messages, chats, backups and settings will remain separate for each account, and users will be able to easily switch between one and the other.

It is not yet clear when support for multiple accounts in WhatsApp will become generally available, but its appearance in the beta version indicates a quick release.
