American developers have introduced the Freedom Eagle-1 long-range anti-drone missile

Defense company BlueHalo demonstrated its advanced technologies at the Desert Guardian 1.0 event hosted by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) at Fort Drum, New York. The innovative solutions are aimed at combating unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), in particular through the use of the VigilantHalo command and control platform, writes Army Recognition.

VigilantHalo integrates data from multiple sensors on a single platform, allowing for rapid response to threats, including those beyond direct line of sight. The modular design of the system allows its use in both stationary and mobile or cloud environments.

The Freedom Eagle-1 (FE-1) missile, designed to destroy Category 3 drones, has attracted particular attention. The FE-1 has a range of over 20 kilometers and the ability to intercept targets at altitudes of up to 10,000 feet. It integrates into existing systems without the need for dedicated radars and provides a cost-effective alternative to expensive missiles.

BlueHalo also showcased other systems, including the LOCUST laser weapon and the Titan-SV autonomous drone detection and tracking system. All of these solutions are designed to protect military personnel in challenging operational environments.

The Desert Guardian 1.0 demonstration allowed BlueHalo to test its developments in real-world conditions and collaborate with public and private partners to further improve the technology. The FE-1 missile and VigilantHalo system demonstrate the company's ability to meet current military needs and provide airspace protection on modern battlefields.
