Apple Watch Ultra 3 will get three important new features

The Apple Watch Ultra hasn't received any major updates since 2023. However, with the arrival of the Apple Watch Ultra 3, that's about to change. Here are three key innovations the new watch will get.

Blood pressure monitoring

Apple is planning to introduce a high blood pressure detection feature. According to Mark Gurman, this feature will work like a sleep apnea detector – it won't provide specific indicators, but it will notify users of a possible hypertension condition. The project has been in the works for years, and is scheduled to launch this year.

Satellite communication without an iPhone

The Ultra 3 will feature satellite messaging without the need for an iPhone. This technology will allow users to send text messages via Globalstar Inc. satellites in the absence of cellular or Wi-Fi. This will make the device even more attractive to travelers and explorers.

5G Support

Apple plans to equip the Ultra 3 with support for 5G Redcap – a version that consumes less power. While it won't reach the maximum speeds of the iPhone, it will allow for better battery life.

The new Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected in the fall, so there's still time to see information about additional features. For now, it's clear that Apple is reinforcing the Ultra 3's positioning as the ultimate watch for adventurers.
