As the portal „Interia” recalls, Wojciech Szczęsny's performance in the colors of FC Barcelona caused a lot of emotions. Canal+ journalists asked Robert Lewandowski what Szczęsny heard from his teammates in the locker room.

FC Barcelona vs. Benfica Lisbon match

On Tuesday, FC Barcelona faced Benfica Lisbon. The teams' struggles found a lot of viewers in Poland due to the fact that the team includes two Poles. While Robert Lewandowski is getting quite good reviews, Wojciech Szczęsny was not so lucky. The Polish goalkeeper made a series of fatal mistakes.

As reported by „Interia”, in the twenty-second minute of the match, Wojciech Szczęsny collided with a Benfica player thirty meters from the goal, which gave another player of the club a chance to get a clear shot. Pavlidisov took advantage of the opportunity and scored.

Szczęsny's mistakes didn't end there. Our goalkeeper also provoked a penalty. After such a performance Szczęsny couldn't count on particularly favorable reviews. The internet went into a frenzy, and an avalanche of criticism fell on the goalkeeper. Even a few good actions that Szczęsny showed in the second half of the match didn't help.

Robert Lewandowski was asked about Szczęsny. What he said?

After the match, a Canal+ journalist asked Robert Lewandowski, among other things, about Wojciech Szczęsny's performance. He asked if the goalkeeper needed support from his teammates during the break and encouragement. Lewandowski gave a rather evasive answer to this question.

„No, I said during the break that we had to look for a goal to make it 3:2 and then we would get back into the game. Of course, we scored to make it 3:2, then we lost a bit unluckily to make it 4:2, but that's football. We knew that we had to look, that there was still a chance. We saw in the last minutes that Benfica had run out of steam and we knew that this could be an opportunity for us,” Lewandowski said.

The Polish striker added that after this match they are thinking calmly about the Champions League. As you can see, Robert Lewandowski said little about Szczęsny.
