A man who reported on CCC raids in Viber chat was convicted in Volyn

A man who obstructed mobilization was tried in Kovel. A Volyn resident reported in the Viber messenger group about the places where summonses were handed out by employees of the CCC and the SP.

The Kovel City District Court on January 14 passed a sentence on the man.

Andriy Kh. from August to September 2024, he published in the Viber group, together with other, currently unidentified participants, information about the places where CCC employees work. Note that there were 13,679 people in the group.

As we were able to find out, on August 6, while in the village of Lyublynets, the man informed other group members on social media that CCC employees were currently conducting mobilization activities in the settlement. He also indicated the vehicle and route of the servicemen.

Subsequently, Andriy Kh. informed the group members several more times that CCC employees were serving summonses in Lyublynets, indicating their specific locations and vehicles.

It was established that the man interfered with the lawful activities of the CCC and the Joint Venture by his actions. The actions of the accused were qualified under Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstruction of the activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations).

During the pre-trial investigation, the Volyn resident admitted his guilt and entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor.

The court took into account that the accused was being held criminally liable for the first time, pleaded guilty, sincerely repented, actively contributed to the disclosure of the crime, and sentenced Andriy Kh. to five years in prison. However, the actual sentence was replaced with a one-year probationary period.
