Donald Trump announced sending astronauts to Mars

During his inaugural address, US President Donald Trump announced ambitious plans to send astronauts to Mars to plant an American flag.

Trump emphasized that ambition is the «life force» United States, and expressed the hope that the US flag will become a symbol of the exploration of the Red Planet.

«We will fulfill our mission and go to the stars by sending American astronauts to plant the Stars and Stripes on Mars», — he noted.

The president added that America is the most ambitious country in the world today:

«There is no other country like ours. Americans — they are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs and pioneers».

Trump's idea was supported by Elon Musk, who will head a new government department responsible for implementing space initiatives.
