Elon Musk made a surprise statement about TikTok in the US

The owner of the X network called this decision contrary to freedom of speech.

A close associate of US President-elect Donald Trump, billionaire and owner of the X social network Elon Musk unexpectedly stated that it was inappropriate to ban the Chinese social network TikTok in the United States.

In his post on the X network, he called this decision contrary to freedom words.

“I have long been against banning TikTok because it contradicts freedom of speech,” Musk wrote.

In support of his words, he recalled his post from April 19, 2024, in which he said that “TikTok should not be banned in the US, even if such a ban could benefit the X platform”.

Then the owner of the X network also stated that “this would contradict freedom of speech and expression”.

At the same time, Elon Musk called the situation “unbalanced” when TikTok is allowed to operate in America, but X is not allowed to work in China”.

“Something needs to change,” he hinted.
