Russians were scared of the Ukrainian meme and added the "BNR" to the list of terrorist organizations

At the end of 2024, the Russian Federation officially put the «Belgorod People's Republic» (BNR) to the register of terrorist organizations.

The corresponding entry appeared in the Unified Federal List of organizations that, according to Russian legislation, are recognized as terrorist.

The document was published on the official website of the FSB, Russian media reported.

«Bilgorod People's Republic» gained popularity as a meme created by Ukrainians. In a humorous form, the «BNR» was mentioned, which allegedly needs to be annexed to Ukraine by analogy with the «DNR» annexed by Russia and «lnr». This meme even has its own page in the Ukrainian «Wikipedia».

In October, anti-war activists calling themselves «partisans of the Belgorod People's Republic» distributed leaflets with QR codes. These codes redirected to a list of dead Russian servicemen, as reported by the Telegram channel «Popil».
