A former TV presenter, who is now a blogger, as well as his accomplice, who «appeared on the air as an expert», were reported on suspicion of justifying Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office said. According to activist Serhiy Sternenko, the «expert» is Dmytro Korniychuk — propagandist godfather of Russian dictator Viktor Medvedchuk.
The former TV presenter, according to NV sources, is Max Nazarov, who previously worked on Viktor Medvedchuk and Yevgeny Murayev's channels — NewsOne and Nash.
«On the air, the suspects convinced the audience that Russia was not an aggressor and presented pro-Russian narratives that the Russian Federation had reasons for invading the territory of Ukraine. The host and his guests, while in Ukraine and observing the tragic consequences of the Russian Federation's actions every day, claimed that there was no war, calling it the „SVO“», — the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
According to the report, the examinations have already confirmed the suspects' illegal statements. In addition, the indictment against «expert» for other episodes of justification of armed aggression has already been sent to the Kyiv-Svyatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv.
Currently, the issue of choosing preventive measures for the suspects is being resolved.
Ukrainian activist Serhiy Sternenko noted in his Telegram channel that suspicion was received by«another Medvedchuk propagandist Dmytro Korniychuk».
On January 18, it became known that the SBU conducted searches at the former host of pro-Russian TV channels, blogger Max Nazarov and informed him of suspicion of justifying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. The SBU did not officially name him, but sources from the NV reported the identity of the propagandist.
The SBU statement stated that law enforcement officers had collected a large-scale evidence base and received conclusions from independent experts confirming the anti-Ukrainian activities of the person involved, who after the start of the full-scale war continued to spread the Kremlin's narratives, in particular on YouTube.
According to the SBU, during the interview, both the author himself and his guests repeatedly tried to justify Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, as well as the war crimes of the occupiers. The SBU noted that another pro-Kremlin blogger was a frequent guest on Nazarov's broadcasts, who had already received suspicion from SBU investigators in February 2024.
It was reported that Nazarov and another blogger who was a guest on his broadcasts face up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property
Max Nazarov (real name Nazar Diorditsa) worked as a TV presenter, in particular on the TV channel, which was controlled by the former People's Deputy of the OPZH Viktor Medvedchuk, suspected of high treason.
