Nintendo officially introduced the new game console Switch 2

After months of leaks and rumors, Nintendo has officially unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2. The company has released a short trailer showing the console's design and confirmed that sales will begin in 2025.

Like the original console, the Switch 2 is a combination of portable and home modes. The detachable Joy-Con controllers are now attached using magnets, and the console itself has become larger, including a larger screen. Official specifications are not yet known, but according to leaks, the display diagonal will be 8 inches.

The developers noted that the improved hardware of the Switch 2 provides higher performance. So far, only one new game has been announced – the next part of Mario Kart.

Nintendo also announced that the new console will support games from the first Switch – both digital and physical copies.

There is no information about the specifications, starting lineup and cost yet. More details should be revealed at the next Nintendo Direct – the event will take place on April 2.
