The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia summoned the ambassador of the aggressor country of Russia, Serhiy Kopyrkin, in connection with the actions directed against the country's independence. The foreign policy department of Armenia informed about this on January 15.
“In connection with the release on January 12, 2025 of the program “Vesty Nedeli” on the All-Russian state television channel of the Russian Federation, during which artificially generated narratives directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia were voiced, on January 15 in The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia summoned the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Kopyrkin”, – the message says.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia noted that the Russian ambassador was handed a “corresponding note of protest”.
The Armenian diplomats did not say exactly which “artificially generated narratives” they are talking about.
“Meduza” said that in the issue of January 12, one of the stories was devoted to relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, in which Russian propagandist Dmytro Kiselyov spoke about the alleged “complete disregard” by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan's commitment to the tripartite agreement between Baku, Yerevan and Moscow, Armenia's passage of “points non-refoulement” in relations with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), etc.
Kiselyov, in particular, stated that Armenia “receives a large amount of weapons from France, clearly preparing for a new war”, and threatened, mentioning Yerevan's desire to become part of the European Union, that Armenia could “lose its greenhouses conditions” in the supply of Russian gas.
The Russian propagandist also drew attention to Pashinyan's attempts to “curtail relations” with “Russia, current allies and partners”.
“Vesti Nedeli” is broadcast on the state TV channel “Russia 1”.
