Hurry up with the upgrade: Nvidia warned about the shortage of gaming video cards

Many gamers traditionally buy video cards during the Christmas sales period, when retailers offer the most attractive prices. However, in 2024, users may not wait for the price of graphics adapters to decrease.

This is reported by the Tom's Hardware portal with reference to Nvidia's recent financial report. The company warned that gamers may face a shortage of Nvidia gaming GPUs in the fourth quarter as the manufacturer plans to reduce supplies.

Interesting point: in early November, some sources reported that Nvidia had completely stopped production of GeForce RTX 40 chips and switched production to RTX 50. Apparently, this information is true.

Nvidia expects the shortage in the graphics card market to decrease early next year. It is expected that Nvidia will start selling new GeForce RTX 50 family graphics cards at the same time.

The presentation of new Nvidia graphics cards is expected in 2025 at CES. If rumors are to be believed, the RTX 5080 will be released first, and after some time the RTX 5090 will appear. The latter will be a real “monster” video card with 32 GB of memory and 600 W power consumption.
