American police have arrested a homeless man suspected of plotting to bomb the New York Stock Exchange this week after he shared his plans with undercover officers, Agence France-Presse reports.
Harun Abdul-Malik Yener, a 1994 Florida native, was arrested after a months-long investigation by FBI agents he allegedly asked to help him find explosive components for a pipe bomb.
Yener believed the undercover agents were members of a paramilitary group he wanted to join.
The FBI said he was planning the bombing to “reset” the U.S. government.

“I've seen everything from the inside, I know the layout, there's almost no security,” – he later told police.
The FBI said a search of Yener's storage unit turned up bomb designs, timers, circuit boards, and other electronic components “that could be used to make explosive devices.”
Analysis of Yener's browser history conducted during the execution of the search warrants showed that he had visited pages “related to bomb making” since 2017, and additional discussions of the topic were found in his text messages and emails.
