“The Library has fixed the flaw that the attackers used to gain access to the network and has taken steps to prevent similar incidents in the future,” the Library of Congress said in a statement, according to the Associated Press.

The House and Senate email accounts “were not compromised,” the library said.

The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world. Its collection contains millions of books, films, videos, audio recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps, and manuscripts. It is located on the government complex across from the Capitol.

The Library is a key research service for Congress.
